EU hands Ukraine, Moldova candidate status

European Union (EU) leaders have accepted Ukraine and Moldova as candidates for membership of the bloc, European Council President Charles Michel announced, EL.kz reports.
«Agreement. #EUCO has just decided EU candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova. A historic moment. Today marks a decisive step on your path to the EU. Congratulations to @ZelenskyyUa and @sandumaiamd and the people of Ukraine and Moldova. Our future is together," Michel posted on Twitter.
He also noted that the European Council is ready to grant the status of a candidate to Georgia, but as soon as "unresolved priorities" will beresolved.
