Burning Koran is impermissible provocations - Tokayev
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev considers the acts of burning the Koran in a number of Nordic states to be impermissible provocations aimed at escalating tension in the modern world, undermining trust between peoples and states, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan is the initiator of the Congresses of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. This forum has become a platform for an effective and fruitful dialogue between prominent representatives of traditional religions and faiths.
According to the Head of State, the increasing cases of religious vandalism and irresponsible behavior of citizens of the respective states should be unanimously condemned as actions that run counter to the generally recognized norms of civilized coexistence of states and religions. The UN General Assembly should also have its say on this matter.
