Shaanxi-Almaty week opened in Almaty
Vice Mayor of Xi'an Xiao Q, Chairman of the Committee of Tourism Industry Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurtas Karipbayev, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty, Ms. Jiang We, and the head of the city's tourism department Galiya Tokseitova.
The event presented a rich program of cooperation between the two regions aimed at strengthening mutual understanding, developing cultural and tourist ties, promoting tourist routes, and creating new business agreements, El.kz reports citing the press service of the the Tourism Industry Committee of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
As part of the ceremony, agreements on cooperation were signed between Kazakhstani and Chinese enterprises aimed at expanding partnerships in the fields of tourism, investment, and cultural exchange. A forum-presentation of tourism and cultural potential also took place, where the parties presented the unique resources, promising areas, and tourist products of their regions.
China remains one of the priority inbound markets for Kazakhstan. In 2024, the over 650,000 citizens of the People's Republic of China visited the country — nearly 9 times more compared to the pre-pandemic level. The conduct of such events contributes to strengthening the flow of tourists, developing regional cooperation, and forming sustainable partnerships in the field of tourism, the chairman of the Committee for the Tourism Industry of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurtas Karipbayev noted.
