Kazakhstan, Finland strengthen cooperation in carbon neutrality
Deputy Minister of Energy Alibek Zhamauov held meeting with Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Finland, Head of the Finland-Kazakhstan Friendship Group Ville Skinnari to discuss the joint efforts in the development of renewable energy, decarbonization, and modernization of energy systems, El.kz reports citing the press service of the ministry.
Kazakhstan is firmly committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. As Zhamauov noted, the country has already begun implementing large-scale reforms in energy — this includes a transition to "green" technologies, upgrading infrastructure, and reducing emissions.
The Finnish side expressed its readiness to actively share its experience — from intelligent energy grids to energy-efficient solutions.
Finland supports Kazakhstan's initiatives and is ready to enhance cooperation both at the parliamentary level and in practical terms — through technological and investment partnerships," Ville Skinnari emphasized.
The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation and promote common climate goals in the international agenda.
