Kazakh President instructs to ensure compensations to those affected by wildfires

The Head of State heard the reports of the Minister for Emergency Situations Yuri Ilyin and akim of Kostanay region Arkhimed Mukhambetov on the measures taken to localize fires, evacuate citizens from settlements and provide support to the victims, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.

The President stressed that the situation in the region is under control. All necessary measures have been taken to eliminate the natural disaster.  

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave the operational headquarters a number of specific instructions aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted operation of all departments for the speedy complete elimination of fires.

The President noted the importance of providing support to people who had to leave their homes. The government and the akimat of the Kostanay region were instructed to promptly ensure payments and compensations to the affected citizens.  

"All victims are provided with the necessary assistance. They have been relocated to safety.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed to the importance of establishing the causes of the fire and drawing relevant lessons.

According to him, it is necessary to develop a set of measures to restore the forest fund and ensure preventive work in order to prevent such crisis situations in the future. There should be no doubt that this assistance will be provided! –the Head of State said.

The President stated the need to seriously strengthen the Ministry of Emergency Situations as an institution capable of solving social issues of the department's employees, including those related to the provision of housing and dormitories, as well as improving the level of professional training of personnel.

Tokayev also met with the personnel of the units of the Ministries of Emergency Situations, Internal Affairs and Defense, as well as with volunteers involved in extinguishing fires.  

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to all participants of the emergency response for their courage and noted that they will be presented with awards and prizes.
