Trade turnover of Kazakhstan with Caspian countries amounted to $ 12.3 billion for 6 months

The trade turnover of Kazakhstan with the Caspian countries for 6 months of this year increased by 7.4% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to $ 12.3 billion, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of National Economy.

According to Alibek Kuantyrov, Kazakhstan is proposing for consideration the investment project "Caspian Food Hub", a transport and logistics center in the port of Aktau, which will significantly facilitate the movement of goods between the countries.

In June of this year in Ashgabat, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed to create a Caspian food hub.

"It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the Caspian region on the geopolitical map of the world. Undoubtedly, the interests of major world players intersect in our region, which attracts more and more attention to the region. As you know, 3 out of 5 Caspian countries - Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are landlocked. Therefore, the Caspian Sea is an important water and transit resource for us," minister of national economy Alibek Kuantyrov said.
