According to the Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev, the upcoming VII Congress of World and Traditional Religions will be the most representative in terms of the participation of spiritual leaders. He said this during an interview on the Khabar 24 TV channel, El.kz reports.

The Speaker of the Senate believes that the event will be the most significant, given the fact that more than 100 world leaders will take part in it, and the theme of the upcoming forum "The role of leaders of world and traditional religions in the social, spiritual development of mankind in the post-pandemic period" will allow for a qualitative discussion of global problems.

"This is a truly unique event, the Pope has not taken part in any congress before, his representatives took part. We also expect the participation of the Supreme Sheikh of the Al-Azhar Islamic Center Ahmad al-Tayeb. He is doing a lot to bring people and religions closer together, and his presence at the congress is significant and important for us. The congress will be attended by chief rabbis from Israel, representatives of Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Shintoism and other religions. There will be a very informative, high-quality discussion. Perhaps spiritual leaders will address the world community with messages, which is very important and timely in such difficult geopolitical conditions. Therefore, the world community and the world media have high expectations from the congress. The congress will contribute to the further promotion at the global level of interfaith, inter-civilized dialogue and the spread of a culture of trust," Ashimbayev said.

The Chairman of the Senate also noted that the congress will favorably affect the economy and image of the country, and, in particular, the positioning of Kazakhstan as a responsible member of the international community, which contributes to ensuring global security, stability, and the dialogue of cooperation between religions, peoples and countries.

"The arrival of the Pope in Kazakhstan on a state visit, participation in the congress, of course, this will be in the focus of attention of all world media. We already have accreditation of the BBC, CNN, Euronews and others. And all this will positively affect the image of the country, the perception of Kazakhstan abroad, and tourist interest in Kazakhstan will also increase. We expect a large number of guests who are going to come from abroad to participate in the Mass of the Pope. And, in the future, of course, there will be a tourist interest in Kazakhstan, all this will have a positive impact on our economy. This kind of image will affect the fact that Kazakhstan will be attractive from an investment point of view, it is also an opportunity to attract investment in the future. But at the same time, I would not like to reduce the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to purely utilitarian things. We understand that there will be a positive effect on the country's image, but at the same time, it is more important that with this congress Kazakhstan is trying to contribute to ensuring inter-civilized, interreligious dialogue, promoting peace, harmony in the modern world," the Senate Speaker added.
