According to the Ministry of Culture and Information, the forum was attended by Kairat Kambarov, Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Yerbol Nurgaliyev, Deputy Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region; and Mr. Jiao Huaixin, Advisor in the Administrative and Legal Affairs Department of the SCO Secretariat.
The forum’s program included two panel sessions. The first session focused on youth policy. During the discussion, participants exchanged best practices from SCO member states. In his speech, Kairat Kambarov highlighted Kazakhstan’s contribution to the formation and development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an authoritative international body, emphasizing that cooperation within the SCO is one of the key priorities of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy.
The main theme of the second panel session was drug prevention. Kazakhstan’s experience in this area was presented by the public foundation “Esbol Qory,” which is part of the regional youth network of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. The foundation introduced an information system called “MERGEN,” which detects and blocks viral drug-related content online. Thanks to this system, more than 4,000 online resources have been identified and blocked within Kazakhstan.
