The World Phygital Sports Summit Phygital Sports Summit Astana 2026 has commenced in the capital of Kazakhstan as part of the international multi-sport tournament “Games of the Future”. The event has brought together sports ministers, representatives of international organisations, and technology companies, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Astana welcomes sports industry leaders
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbоl Myrzabossynov highlighted the importance of international cooperation in developing a new sports discipline that combines physical and digital competitions.
Minister of Sports of the United Arab Emirates Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi , Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Mikhail Degtyarev , Minister of Sport of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, Minister ot Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Farid Gayibov, Belarusian Sports and Tourism Minister Sergey Kovalchuk as well as representatives of international sports organisations and leading technology companies attended the event.
Key topics of the forum
The summit programme includes panel discussions on the development of phygital sports, the integration of digital technologies, international cooperation, and innovation within the sports industry.
“The platform is expected to serve as a venue for exchanging experience, discussing current challenges, and developing joint solutions aimed at further advancing the phygital movement at the intl level,” the press service stated.
