World Championship in Fire and Rescue Sport started in Almaty

The opening ceremony of the XIII World Championship among boys and juniors and the IX World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport was held at the central stadium in Almaty,El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The event was opened by the Vice Emergency Minister of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nurpeissov. Welcoming the participants of the competition, he expressed confidence that the upcoming event will be held at the highest level, and will raise the bar of professionalism of the world's fire and rescue services.

Also, President of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers Alexander Chupriyan, Director of the Executive Committee of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers Andrei Kalinin and the chief judge of the competition Sergei Bakirov made welcoming speeches.

By the way, the World Junior Championship is held in our country for the first time.
