Volunteers from 27 countries to gather in Astana for Meeting of CICA Movement Leaders

Astana is actively preparing for the Leaders Meeting of CICA Volunteer Movement, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Information.

In this regard, a meeting of the organizing committee was held with the participation of Vice Minister of Culture and Information Ayzada Kurmanova, CICA Deputy Secretary General Zhang Ling, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Akimat of Astana.

The CICA Volunteer Meeting will be held on October 3-4 in Astana. 400 activists from 27 Asian countries will take part. Thematic panel sessions, educational and cultural events will be organized for them.

The goal is to highlight the role of volunteering in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and to strengthen intercultural dialogue in Asian countries. The meeting will also become a platform for discussing important social problems.

Also, within the framework of the Meeting, the 7th meeting of the CICA Youth Council is planned, following which joint recommendations for the development of volunteering will be adopted.
