VII meeting of Ministers of Education of Organization of Turkic States held in Samarkand
The Kazakh delegation headed by the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanysh Yergaliyev took part in the VII Meeting of Ministers of Education of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of education of the OTS participating countries traditionally met at this event and discussed issues on the agenda related to the education sector.
In November 2022, within the framework of the OTS summit, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced an initiative to create a Network University of the organization. In order to promote this initiative, the Vice Minister presented the draft Concept of the Network University of the OTS member countries.
The initiative of the Head of State to create a Network University of OTS involves the creation of flexible mechanisms for interaction between the leading universities of the partner countries by analogy with the University of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Network University of the Commonwealth of Independent States (SUSNG), as well as providing the necessary conditions for the development of academic mobility, joint and double-degree academic programs, joint scientific projects and strengthening intercultural dialogue between students of all Turkic-speaking countries," Kuanysh Yergaliyev said.
In addition, he held bilateral talks with Naci Gundogan, Member of the Board of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey, on cooperation in the field of higher education and the implementation of joint projects to open branches of leading Turkish universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
