US exempts Kazakhstani subsidiary of Alfa-Bank from sanctions

US Ministry of Finance has allowed transactions with Russia related to food, fertilizers, seeds, medicines and medical equipment. Also, the former subsidiary of Gazprom, Gazprom Germania GmbH, is exempted from the sanctions, El.kz reports with reference to Sputnik.kz.
In early April, Alfa-Bank Kazakhstan was included in the US sanctions lists. In May, the financial institution was bought out by Bank Center Credit. The bank changed its name to Ecobank.
