Upcoming parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan discussed in Yerevan

The National Library of Armenia hosted a round table dedicated to the upcoming early elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan in March, 2023, which was attended by the leadership and staff of the National Library, representatives of the expert community, public organizations and the media of Armenia, El.kz cites MFA.

The participants were informed in detail about the large-scale program of political and economic modernization initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Particular attention was paid to the preparation and holding of parliamentary elections, which, in accordance with the constitutional reform, will be held on new and competitive conditions. Armenian experts noted the importance of economic and political changes in Kazakhstan in the face of modern global challenges and highly appreciated the policy of the Kazakh leadership, wishing successful elections.

Director of the National Library Anna Chulyan noted the progressive development of bilateral cultural, humanitarian, scientific and academic ties. She announced her intention to visit Astana within the framework of the cooperation program between the national libraries of Armenia and Kazakhstan, and also expressed her readiness to share the Armenian experience in the framework of the digitalization of the library fund and services. During the event, books by Kazakh writers were donated to the Center of Kazakh Literature of the National Library of Armenia.
