Tokayev receives Chief Rabbis of Israel
The President thanked the authoritative leaders of the Ashkenazi and Sephardic rabbinates for participating in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, as well as for actively supporting this initiative of Kazakhstan, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that our country has always been distinguished by religious and cultural diversity that has developed over a long historical period. On the territory of Kazakhstan, the spiritual traditions of the largest world and traditional religions, including Judaism, are intertwined. According to him, Kazakhstan pursues a consistent policy to strengthen interfaith and interethnic harmony.
The Head of State stressed that Israel is one of the important partners of Kazakhstan in the Middle East, trade and economic cooperation is increasing, cultural and spiritual ties are consistently strengthening.
David Lau and Yitzhak Yosif noted that Kazakhstan is committed to strengthening interfaith dialogue, always supports freedom of religion, and can serve as a vivid example for other states in this matter.
