The Head of State received the Governor of the Astana International Financial Center Renat Bekturov, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
The President was informed about the results of the AIFC's activities for 2023 and the first quarter of this year, as well as plans for the development of the center.
According to Renat Bekturov, the financial center attract more than $11 billion in investments to the country (including $3.5 billion for 2023 and the first 3 months of this year), exceeding the initial target set for 2025.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was also informed that in 2023, a record number of new participants were registered in the AIFC - more than 670 companies (in total - more than 2600 companies from 78 countries of the world). In 2023 and the first 3 months of this year, the participants of the center paid taxes to the country's budget in the amount of 48.7 billion tenge.
The President outlined a number of urgent tasks for the further development of the financial center. In particular, he noted the important role of the AIFC in the development of the Middle Corridor.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also stressed that, actively using the AIFC infrastructure to conclude transactions, government agencies and supervising financial institutions need to consolidate efforts to attract investment in the economy of Kazakhstan.
