Tokayev proposes to actively promote work of Organization of Turkic States

During the summit of the Organization of Turkic States, held in the city of Samarkand, the President of Kazakhstan addressed a number of initiatives to the participants, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of Kazakhstan. 

The Head of State noted that the image of the Organization should be more actively promoted in the media.

"The next urgent task is that we need to more actively promote the activities of our Organization through the media. We must demonstrate to the entire world community the scale of the work that we are doing to strengthen integration in the Turkic world. This work should be held with the participation of leading international agencies and mass media of our countries," Tokayev said.

The President noted that the idea of Turkic cooperation is of interest to the whole world.

“Admittedly, not everyone is familiar with the activities of our Organization. At the same time, the idea of Turkic cooperation is increasingly attracting the attention of the world community. Increasingly, in different parts of the globe, valuable evidence of the history of the Turkic civilization is being found. This is the common heritage of our peoples. Therefore, I consider it an important task to study and systematize the available historical and linguistic sources.

We need to organize active interaction of scientific institutions and present the results of their research to the world community more widely. The work of our Organization should not be limited to diplomatic summits and meetings with the signing of final documents. I believe that the united territorial community should become an authoritative platform that unites and brings together the Turkic world," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
