Tokayev positively assesses Zhetysu region’s development paces

Governor of Zhetysu region Beibit Issabayev informed Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the region’s socio-economic development,El.kz cites Akorda.

According to him, the region demonstrates a positive dynamics in all major sectors of economy.

Growth in manufacturing sector made 5.8%, in agriculture - 1.7%. Trade and construction sector showed a 1.6fold increase. 198,400 square meters of housing were put into commission which is 11.2% more than in the same period in 2022. The region attracted 213.9 billion tenge of investments with a 23.9% rise including private investments increase by 15.7%.

As Beibit Issabayev reported, 533 enterprises are operating in the region today with 26,6000 jobs created and production volume at 230.1 billion tenge. 14 production facilities with the total cost of 46.9 billion tenge will be commissioned in 2023.

Gross agricultural product increased by 1.7%. Total cropland area was expanded to 8,700 hectares.

At the President’s instruction, Aksu Sugar Plant was repaired and commissioned. Koksu Sugar Plant has produced 70,000 tons of sugar.

22 projects on reconstruction and construction of water supply systems are implemented in the region. 22 settlements including Taldykorgan were gasified.

16 new schools for 8,800 children will be built in the region in 2023-2025. Of them, seven schools for 6,600 students will be built under the Comfortable School project.

Eight healthcare, five cultural and 14 sports facilities are under construction in the region today. 867 million tenge is envisaged for the construction of Jetisy Arena ice palace. The governor also reported to the President on construction and reconstruction of roads.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev positively assessed the region’s development paces and set a task to continue working in this area.
