Addressing the participants, the Head of State noted that Kazakhstan has made a strategic choice in favour of digital transformation. Today, the country ranks 24th among 193 countries in the United Nations E-Government Development Index (EGDI).
Kazakhstan continues to lead Central Asia in terms of readiness for the adoption of emerging technologies. The country is developing an integrated innovation ecosystem in which artificial intelligence is expected to become a key instrument for public administration, economic development and business transformation.
The President recalled that, in his Address to the Nation last year, he instructed to transform Kazakhstan into a fully digital state within three years. The designation of 2026 as the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence is intended to advance this strategic objective.
President Tokayev further noted that the country’s principal innovation-driven development priorities have been enshrined in the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which entered into force on 1 July.
