Tokayev notes need for legislative support for reforms in Kazakhstan
The Head of State received the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the legislative activities of the Senate. Since the Senate began to perform the functions of the Parliament to adopt laws, 21 laws have been approved and adopted, including those on the resolution of labor disputes, housing and communal services, digital assets, as well as amendments to the Tax Code, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
Maulen Ashimbayev said that the Senate is currently considering important bills prepared on behalf of the Head of State. In particular, it is planned to consider the clarification of the republican budget for 2023, the Social Code, draft laws on administrative reform, human rights and the prevention of torture, as well as the civil service.
The Head of State was informed on the work carried out by the Chamber to reform the judicial system and improve procedural legislation. As part of the execution of the instructions of the President of the country, a working group created in the Senate held more than 60 meetings and collected about 350 proposals. The result of this work was the development of two bills.
The President was also acquainted with the activities aimed at strengthening the regional agenda in the work of the Senate and promoting the ideas of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
The Head of State noted the need to continue legislative activities aimed at further supporting reforms on the integrated socio-economic development of the country.
