Tokayev meets with Speaker of Armenian Parliament
The President of Kazakhstan met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan at the Parliament building in Yerevan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Head of State called Armenia a close country with which Kazakhstan is united by a common history and long-standing cultural ties.
As the President said, during the talks with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, important agreements were reached in the fields of trade, economic, investment, transport and logistics cooperation.
Now, as Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized, special attention should be paid to the effective legislative support of the agreements reached, as well as strengthening parliamentary control over the progress of their implementation.
The leader of Kazakhstan informed the interlocutor that within the framework of large-scale political modernization carried out in Kazakhstan on his initiative, the development of parliamentarism occupies a central place.
The Head of the State noted with satisfaction the active cooperation at the level of legislative bodies and thanked the Speaker of the National Assembly for his continued support and contribution to the development of this important area in the relations between the two states.
Alen Simonyan noted the high level of mutual cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan in multilateral and bilateral formats. During the conversation, the prospects for strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation and ties between the regions of Kazakhstan and Armenia were also considered.
