Tokayev meets with Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization
The Head of State received the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to the UNWTO delegation and personally to the Secretary-General of the Organization Zurab Pololikashvili for participating in the opening ceremony and supporting the V World Nomad Games.
The Head of State noted that this large-scale international event will contribute to strengthening friendship between peoples, promoting the image of Kazakhstan and demonstrating the rich cultural and historical heritage of our country. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to close cooperation with the Organization and expressed readiness to implement joint initiatives in the field of tourism.
Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili thanked the President for the warm welcome and highly appreciated the level of organization of the World Nomad Games in Astana.
In his opinion, such events open up wide opportunities for the development of tourism and the country's economy as a whole.
During the meeting, promising areas for expanding Kazakhstan's partnership with the UN World Tourism Organization were considered. The emphasis was placed on practical steps that will help increase the tourist attractiveness of the country and strengthen its position in the international arena.
