Tokayev meets with SCO Secretary-General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Nurlan Yermekbayev, El.kz reports citing Aqorda.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further development of cooperation within the SCO framework.
The President emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to strengthening the role of the SCO as an effective international organization capable of responding promptly to global challenges.
Tokayev praised China’s current chairmanship of the SCO and expressed support for further improvement of the organization’s mechanisms to enhance its standing on the global stage.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of Kazakhstan’s key priorities within the SCO, including initiatives aimed at strengthening security, economic cooperation, and humanitarian collaboration in the region.
