Tokayev meets with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, El.kz reports citing Akorda.

During the meeting, the Head of our state expressed gratitude to his counterpart for  personal participation in the SCO summit and continued support for the priorities and initiatives of Astana.

- Your participation has the particular importance, since you are the only current President who stood at the origins of the creation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 1996. This organization, in my opinion, is an effective, authoritative and inherently democratic association. We hope that tomorrow's Summit will be successful," the President said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that bilateral cooperation is developing dynamically in all areas. According to him, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have managed to build truly allied relations, in which Emomali Rahmon also has a great merit.

For his part, The President of Tajikistan noted the successful chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the SCO, as well as the systematic development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and security areas.

The parties  also considered certain aspects of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations.
