President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree convening the first session of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the first convocation. The session will be held on August 28 in Astana, El.kz reports citing Aqorda.

According to the decree of the Head of State, the 1st session of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the first convocation will be held at 11:00 a.m on August 28 in Astana.

The document states that the decision was made in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Article 58 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“To convene the first session of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the first convocation at 11:00 a.m on August 28, 2026 in the city of Astana.”

The decree was signed at Aqorda on 26 August and enters into force on the date of its signing. Accordingly, the first session of the Kurultai of the first convocation will be held on 28 August.
