President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated personnel of the emergency management authorities on their professional holiday and presented state awards. The Head of State expressed his gratitude to emergency responders for their courage and dedication, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
Speaking at the official ceremony, the President described emergency response personnel as heroes of peacetime. He emphasised that their work requires constant readiness to respond to dangerous situations, professional expertise and the ability to make decisions at critical moments.
“Safeguarding human life, protecting people from threats and dangers, extending a helping hand to those in distress and offering words of support in difficult times - all these noble qualities define the calling of true emergency responders. That is why our people call you - all professionals working in emergency services - heroes of peacetime,” Tokayev said.
The President noted that the emergency responder profession enjoys well-deserved public respect. At the same time, the standards expected of civil protection personnel remain high, requiring courage, composure, decisiveness and specialised training.
“Above all, however, an emergency responder is a patriot who cares deeply about the country and a highly qualified professional. Only strong-willed, courageous and responsible individuals choose such a demanding profession,” the Head of State emphasised.
Tokayev also addressed the risks that emergency service personnel face on an almost daily basis. According to Kazakh leader, responders often have to operate in situations where human lives depend on the speed and accuracy of their decisions.
“In any emergency, you are the first to rush to the aid of others, risking your own lives to save theirs. This is the true heroism of emergency responders. As Head of State, I believe that your service deserves the highest recognition and respect in our society,” the President noted.
