The founder of the Telegram messenger, Pavel Durov, announced the introduction of the Stories function in Telegram, El.kz reports.
Telegram users have been asking us to add Stories to our messenger for years. More than half of all feature requests we receive are related to stories.
In the beginning, we were against this idea, since stories are already present everywhere. However, we always strive to listen to our users and innovate in existing formats, and now we are ready to introduce this feature," Durov explained.
The stories tab is expected to be located at the top of the chat list. Users will be able to determine exactly who will view their stories - all users, only added contacts, or only close friends. In addition, they will be able to choose the duration of the relevance of the story - six, 12, 24 or 48 hours.
The Stories feature is in the final stages of testing and will be available in early July.
This will open a new era in the development of Telegram," Pavel Durov summed up.
