According to the results of the first half of the year, the country produced 8.5 thousand tons of processed tea and coffee - 8.6% less than a year earlier, El.kz reports with reference to the Energyprom.kz.

According to the results of January-May 2021, domestic producers provided demand (sales in the domestic market plus exports) for processed tea and coffee by 27.2%, against 30.1% a year earlier.

The share of imports, respectively, accounted for 72.8%. 17.3 thousand tons of tea and coffee were brought to Kazakhstan - 5.9% less than a year earlier. 2.3 thousand tons of processed tea and coffee were exported, minus 22.2% for the year. In the domestic market of Kazakhstan, 21.4 thousand tons of products were sold - 8% less than a year earlier.

During the same period (January-May 2022), 11 thousand tons of tea worth $ 36 million were imported into the country. The reduction in physical terms was 21.6%, in monetary terms - 28.2%.

The largest volume of tea imports fell on Kenya: 4.4 thousand tons - 28.2% less than a year earlier. In monetary terms, imports amounted to 14.6 million dollars. On the second and third lines were India (3.5 thousand tons for 9.8 million dollars) and Russia (1.1 thousand tons for 7.6 million dollars).
