Tasmagambetov and Lavrov discuss UN peacekeeping activities

The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, El.kz reports with reference to the CSTO press service.

The parties discussed topical issues of the Organization's activities, the implementation of the decisions of the session of the Collective Security Council held in Minsk on November 23, 2023, as well as preparations for the upcoming meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers in June this year.

"Much attention was paid to the issues of embedding the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Potential into the UN peacekeeping activities, the current results of the implementation of the Target Interstate Program to strengthen sections of the Tajik-Afghan border, as well as the delimitation of the state border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan," the report says.

At the end of the meeting, employees of the Russian Foreign Ministry were presented with awards of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
