Succession meeting held at Constitutional Court

A meeting was held between members of the Constitutional Court and ex-members of the Constitutional Council, the legal successor of which is the Constitutional Court itself, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the judges of the Constitutional Court presented the mandate and results of the work of the renewed constitutional control body.

The provision in the Constitution of citizens and their representatives, the Commissioner for Human Rights and the Prosecutor General with the right to appeal to the Constitutional Court confirms the humanistic and human rights orientation of the constitutional reform of 2022. For five months, more than 2.7 thousand citizens appealed to the Constitutional Court.

"Every citizen can now directly and through his representatives defend his constitutional rights and freedoms in this body. Direct access of citizens makes the work of the Constitutional Court more responsible," said Elvira Azimova, President of the Constitutional Court
