Spanish Senator praises political reforms in Kazakhstan
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Danat Musayev held a meeting with Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Senate of Spain, Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Antonio Gutierrez, El.kz n reports with reference to the press service of MFA.
The parties discussed the agenda of bilateral parliamentary relations with an emphasis on the upcoming extraordinary elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on March 19, 2023.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted that the elections to the lower house of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan are the logical conclusion of the cycle of political reforms initiated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In particular, after the constitutional referendum and presidential elections in 2022, as well as elections to the Majilis this year, the country is entering a new era of its democratic development.
In turn, Antonio Gutierrez praised the internal political processes in our country and noted that as vice-chairman of PACE, as well as a parliamentarian in general, he welcomes the political reforms of the head of the Kazakh state.
The sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral inter-parliamentary diplomacy. Danat Musayev accepted the invitation of A. Gutierrez to speak in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of Spain in the near future.
