Singapore launches AI economy essay contest for pre-university students

Singapore launched an essay competition for pre-university students on the theme of the city-state's artificial intelligence (AI)-driven economic future, with a top prize of 3,000 Singapore dollars (about 2,338 U.S. dollars), El.kz cites Xinhua.
Participants are asked to examine how AI can boost productivity, create new industries and strengthen Singapore's competitiveness, while also addressing challenges such as its impact on the labor market and issues of ethical governance, the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Economic Society of Singapore said in a joint statement.
The organizers said the theme aligns with the government's push for AI adoption in 2026.
The contest is open to all pre-university students studying in Singapore, regardless of nationality, as well as Singaporean pre-university students studying overseas.
