Share of SMEs exceeds 36% of gross domestic product - Tokayev

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is taking part at the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the President’s Prize "Altyn Sapa" and “Paryz”, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Congratulations to all of you on the completion of the contests "Altyn Sapa", "Paryz", and "The Best Product of Kazakhstan"! Every year, at this solemn meeting, we honor entrepreneurs who have made a significant contribution to the development of the country. This is an important event that has become a good tradition over the years. Now the business sphere is dynamically developing in Kazakhstan. For this, the state is creating all the conditions. The share of small and medium-sized businesses exceeded 36 % of the gross domestic product. This is a really high figure. The number of people working in this area has reached 4.3 million, which is 45 percent of the country's able-bodied citizens, the Head of State said.

He noted that work on industrialization has been carried out at a high pace in recent years.

Last year, the volume of manufacturing exports exceeded $26 billion. This is a record figure. Last year, 1.5 trillion tenge of investments were attracted to this industry. Maximum conditions have been created for the development of processing enterprises. As a result, the amount of taxes paid to the republican budget increased by 5 times. Thus, business representatives have become reliable partners of the State, the President said.
