Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Shaidorov earned the top score in the men’s short program Thursday (2 October) at the Denis Ten Memorial Challenge, part of the International Skating Union’s Challenger Series, El.kz reports citing olympics.com.

The reigning world silver medallist earned a 95.01 for his short program, nearly seven-and-a-half points clear of Georgia’s Nika Egadze, who tallied an 87.58. Jason Brown of the United States rounded out the top three with an 86.61 score.

Shaidorov opened his programme with a quadruple Lutz, triple toeloop combination before holding on to his triple Axel in his second jumping pass. He wrapped up his programme, which is set in part to music by Phil Collins, with a quadruple toe.
