Selling oil and gas assets at low cost: issue considered by Economy Demonopolization Commission
The legality of the transfer into private ownership of important infrastructure facilities in the oil and gas sector was considered by the Economy Demonopolization Commission, chaired by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.
During the meeting it was noted that several years earlier a large company operating in the oil and gas industry was sold into private ownership. Conducted on the instructions of the Commission check revealed that the asset had been transferred into private hands at an underestimated value.
The Prime Minister instructed the authorized state agencies to work through this issue within the framework of the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
