Science and education bring Kazakhstan and UAE closer

A meeting took place at the United Arab Emirates University (UAE University) between the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates, Rauan Zhumabek, and the Cultural Adviser to the President of the UAE and Rector of the University, Professor Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, El.kz cites Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the enhancement of cooperation in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and academic exchange between universities of Kazakhstan and the UAE.

Ambassador Zhumabek highlighted the UAE University’s significant contribution to strengthening the region’s scientific potential, stating: «Your leadership in research and innovation has made UAE University the nation’s leading institution of higher education, advancing the goals of sustainable development. Thanks to its high academic standards, it remains the number one university in the country and consistently ranks among the top institutions in the Quacquarelli Symonds and Times Higher Education global rankings».

Particular attention was given to joint research initiatives, academic mobility, and collaboration within the framework of the Asian Education Cooperation Program.

«Our university already partners with Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Nazarbayev University. We aim to further expand this partnership through joint research projects and innovative initiatives», – noted Professor Nusseibeh.

The Kazakh diplomat emphasized that Kazakhstan places a high priority on developing human capital and modernizing its higher education system through international cooperation and integration into the global academic community.

Following the meeting, both sides agreed to explore the possibility of signing Memorandums of Understanding between leading universities of Kazakhstan and the UAE’s top university, including the establishment of research centers, dual-degree programs, and annual scientific events
