Saudi Arabia interested in increasing agricultural exports from Kazakhstan

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Madiyar Menilbekov met with the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdulrahman Abdulmohs AlFadley, El.kz cites MFA.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of enhancing cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia in the agricultural, environmental and water sectors, and exchanged views on the implementation of joint economic and investment projects in the agro-industrial sector.

Ambassador Menilbekov briefed about the agricultural potential of Kazakhstan, paying special attention to the measures taken to develop the agro-industrial complex and the industry as a whole. In his speech, he noted that today Kazakhstan, as the largest agricultural country, can export almost all types of crop and livestock products to the Gulf countries, including wheat, honey, dairy products, beef, lamb and others.

In turn, Minister AlFadley noted that Kazakhstan is an important partner for Saudi Arabia, and fully supported the proposals of the Kazakh side to intensify bilateral cooperation and assured that he would make all necessary efforts to expand existing and establish new contacts between the two states.

In addition, the parties paid special attention to the interaction of the two countries in solving international environmental problems, including the preparations for the upcoming COP16 summit, which will be held in December 2024 in Riyadh.

The government of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the UN (UNCCD) plans to hold the largest international summit COP16, dedicated to environmental, climate, water and other problems. Representatives from more than 197 countries are expected to take part in the event.
