Round table dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was hosted in the Gulf Research Center.

The event was attended by the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia, as well as heads of research centers, leading experts, representatives of academic and business circles and the media.

In his speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Madiyar Menilbekov spoke about the main achievements over 30 years of bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The Kazakh Ambassador emphasized the deep historical and spiritual ties, the closeness of cultures between the two peoples, which are a solid foundation for the further development of bilateral relations.

Special attention was paid to investment cooperation, in particular, it was noted that the Saudi company ACWA Power plans to build a 1 GW wind farm in Kazakhstan in the amount of 1.8 billion US dollars.

Abdelaziz Sager, Chairman of the Gulf Research Center, noted that the Kingdom attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with Kazakhstan, which is considered as the leader of the Central Asian region with the richest reserves of natural resources, great potential in the field of agriculture and high human capital.

The guests of the event highly appreciated the dynamics of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, and also proposed new directions for Kazakh-Saudi cooperation,El.kz cites MFA.

In particular, the head of the Asia Department of the KSA Diplomatic Institute, Ali al-Karni, expressed readiness to allocate places for Kazakh students to study at this institute.

The ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to the KSA also made presentations, who noted the importance of interregional cooperation within the framework of the Central Asia – Gulf Countries Dialogue Platform.
