Role of Mediation in Legal System of Kazakhstan

The Atyrau Regional Court hosted a conference "Development of Mediation in Kazakhstan: The Role of Mediation in the Legal System", El.kz reports.

Chairman of the Association "International Negotiation Academy" Sabyrzhan Kalmakhambetov presented a report on the implementation of the republican project and discussed the draft concept for the development of mediation in Kazakhstan for 2025-2030. The project is aimed at creating favorable conditions for the development of mediation and increasing the level of professionalism of mediators.

Judges of the Atyrau region noted that in the first half of 2024, 4728 civil cases were completed, of which 1088 cases (23%) were considered using conciliation procedures.

The conference also discussed the expansion of the scope of mediation, including labor disputes and consumer protection cases, which will help reduce the number of litigations and increase satisfaction for both parties.
