Gabi Hartmann is a young Parisian singer, author, composer and guitarist. She has topped the French charts since the release of her first album in 2023. Her style is a cocktail of chanson, jazz and folk. Gabi Hartmann sings in French, English, Portuguese and Arabic, accompanied by musicians she meets during her travels.
Gabi’s interest in jazz arose after getting to know the work of Amy Winehouse and her arrangements of Ella Fitzgerald, Frant Sinatra and Nat King Cole.
After receiving an education at the Schola Cantorum and the Conservatory, Gabi went to Rio de Janeiro for two years, where she became interested in Brazilian music. In London she studies ethnomusicology, and then returns to Paris to work on several projects at once: in ten different genres, in three languages. Gabi travels a lot: Brazil, South Africa, England… In 2018, she met producer Jesse Harris in New York and recorded her first solo album with him. Since then, they have been writing and recording music in Paris and New York. During this period, Gabi performed a lot, including in the first part on the same stage as Jamie Cullum and Melody Gardot, and also in the famous Parisian jazz club Duc des Lombards. Her name attracted genuine attention, and her magnificent voice – warm, with a touch of casual elegance and charm – deservedly gained great popularity.
The concert will take place as part of the Printemps de la Francophonie festival with the support of the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan.
