Responsible for this first of all is management of company-Kazakh PM on Kostenko tragedy
The meeting of the Government of Kazakhstan headed by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov discussed the Kostenko mine tragedy in Karaganda region. The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the deceased miners and wished the injured a speedy recovery, El.kz reports.
Smailov emphasized that the treatment and rehabilitation of miners must be kept under strict control, and assured that the families of the victims will be provided with the necessary assistance. These instructions were also given by the Head of State.
As part of the investigation into the tragedy, the Prime Minister instructed to terminate investment cooperation with ArcelorMittal Temirtau.
"The responsible for this tragedy , first of all, are the management of the company, which committed violations in the field of industrial safety," Smailov stressed. Due to non-fulfillment of its obligations, the company will have to complete the deal on the transfer of ArcelorMittal Temirtau in favor of Kazakhstan.
In his speech, the Prime Minister stressed that a special commission will clarify all the circumstances of the tragedy and determine the perpetrators. Smailov also called on local authorities and the Ministry of Emergency Situations to take the necessary measures to eliminate the consequences of the accident and provide support to the victims.
