Rail transportation between Kazakhstan and China exceeded 32 mln tons

Rail transportation between Kazakhstan and China exceeded 32 million tons. This was reported by the Committee of rail and water transport of the Ministry of transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, El.kz reports.

Exports from Kazakhstan to China increased by 1million tons, reaching 13.7 million tons. The main export cargoes include iron and non-ferrous ore, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as grain crops.

Import traffic also showed an increase of 5%, and transit volumes through Kazakhstan increased by 19%, amounting to 15.3 million tons. Transit in containers to Europe showed a particularly significant increase, increasing by 43%.

One of the key growth factors was the opening of the Kazakhstan terminal in the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park. In 2024, over 300 container trains passed through the terminal and port of Aktau, which is 30 times more than in the previous year.
