Protection of children in digital environment: "CYBER TUMAR" campaign starts in Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, an information and educational campaign called "CYBER TUMAR" has been launched, aimed at protecting children in the digital environment. The initiative is carried out by the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with UNICEF Kazakhstan in order to ensure the safe stay of children on the Internet and teach them to effectively cope with possible risks, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"CYBER TUMAR" is a set of information tools, including social posters with the main algorithms of actions in case of various threats, materials with practical advice from experts, educational videos and other resources.
The campaign will focus on online threats such as cyberbullying, online child abuse, inappropriate and prohibited content, digital risks to children's safety and privacy, and children's internet addiction.
"The Internet is not only a means of information, but also a means of communication. Therefore, a person, starting from an early age, should be taught how to use the potential of these means in the most reasonable way, with benefit and the least damage.
The information and educational campaign "CYBER TUMAR" is an important and timely measure that will have an impact on ensuring the information security of children and will help in strengthening parental responsibility to instill "immunity" to the choice of information in the online environment," said Nasymzhan Ospanova, Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the Committee, taking into account the results of the sociological study "Kazakhstan Kids Online. Digital Life of Children in Kazakhstan", an extensive campaign was carried out on the use of the "Parental Control" program to address topical issues in the field of children's information security.
