Prime Minister of Kazakhstan meets with Emir of Qatar
On the sidelines of the third Qatar Economic Forum held in Doha, a meeting was held between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Alikhan Smailov conveyed to the Emir of Qatar the sincere greetings and good wishes of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and also congratulated on the successful holding of the World Cup, which attracted the attention of the entire world community.
The Prime Minister stressed that Qatar is an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world. This is confirmed by the high rates of mutual trade and investment. So, in the first quarter of this year alone, the volume of bilateral trade increased by 17.7 times, and the volume of Qatari investments in the republic by the end of 2022 - by 3 times.
The Prime Minister stressed that Qatar is an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world. This is confirmed by the high rates of mutual trade and investment. In this context, he outlined the importance of cooperation between the state funds of the Qatar Investment Authority and Samruk-Kazyna and plans to create a joint private equity fund.
For his part, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani reaffirmed his readiness to increase bilateral cooperation in all priority areas.
