President Tokayev thanked National Commission for its fruitful work
The Head of State sent a welcome address in connection with the 25th anniversary of the National Commission on Women's Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The forum of women of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the anniversary date, was attended by deputies of the Parliament, representatives of international organizations and the civil sector, international partners.
In his welcome address to the forum participants, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the important role of the National Commission in the development of Kazakhstan for 25 years.
"The Commission plays a huge role in ensuring gender equality, strengthening the institution of the family, protecting motherhood and childhood, and acts as an effective platform that unites the efforts of authorized bodies, the civil sector and business. Experts of the National Commission are actively involved in the development of laws and state programs, implement important social projects and initiatives. In recent years, the list of professions prohibited for women has been abolished in our country, electoral quotas have been introduced, and units for the protection of women's rights have been created in the system of internal affairs bodies. Largely thanks to the fruitful work of the National Commission, Kazakhstan has ratified a number of international conventions and fulfills all obligations to overcome gender inequality. We will continue to take systemic measures to increase the role of women in society and promote family values, step by step creating a Fair Kazakhstan - a state of equal opportunities for all," the congratulatory message reads.
The forum participants discussed important issues related to family and demographic policy, the role of women in modern society, social and economic support for families, children's rights and many other aspects.
