President Tokayev awards culture and art figures at Akorda palace

On the eve of Culture Workers' Day, a solemn award ceremony took place in Akorda, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to figures in culture and art, emphasizing that it is culture that influences the world's perception of the country.
"We are the heirs of the unique culture of the Great Steppe. The national art of Kazakhstan is entering the international arena — from music to cinema," the President noted.
During his address, Tokayev mentioned that the country is actively digitizing its cultural heritage. Over 1500 kyuis and folk songs have already been uploaded to global online platforms. The promotion of Kazakh culture continues through the creative industry.
Museums are referred to as "treasure houses of history," and, according to Tokayev, they will be used more actively for scientific research purposes.
The archaeological site of Saraishyk is of particular interest and is in need of reconstruction.
The President also supported the idea of creating a unified digital platform for the historical and cultural heritage of Central Asian countries, as well as reported on the ongoing work with UNESCO to include Kazakh monuments in the World Heritage List.
The President emphasized the importance of reading and publishing, noting the establishment of the Presidential Prize for young writers and the celebration of National Book Day.
Tokayev noted that culture and art play a key role in the country's educational mission and the upbringing of a new generation.
As part of the ceremony, the title of "Kazakhstan's Labor Hero" was awarded to the famous singer Kairat Baibossynov for his outstanding contribution to the development and popularization of folk art.
