President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the IOM Director General, Amy Pope,El.kz reports citing Aqorda.
The meeting discussed the issues of cooperation on migration matters, the protection of migrants' rights, and collaboration within the framework of the IOM's Strategic Plan for 2024–2028.
Amy Pope highlighted the importance of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Almaty Process in 2025–2027 as a consultative platform for promoting regional dialogue and facilitating coordinated responses to migration-related issues in Central Asia.
The parties agreed to further deepen cooperation, as well as to enhance institutional capacity and exchange best practices to promote sustainable migration management in the region.
