At the end of working visit to Mangystau region, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the public of the region.
It was attended by deputies of the regional maslikhat, members of the Council of Veterans, representatives of the non-governmental sector and business community, as well as scientific and creative intellectuals and young people.
In his speech, the Head of State stressed the importance of his visit to Mangystau region and emphasized that Mangystau people have always supported the leadership of the country in the most important moments of history.
Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev separately dwelt on the success of Kazakhstan, achieved during the years of independence under the leadership of the First President of Kazakhstan - Nursultan Nazarbayev.
- As you know, Yelbasy made a historic decision, and Kazakhstan entered a new phase of its development. We will continue the progressive movement to the strategic goals and objectives defined by Nursultan Nazarbayev. Over the years of independence, we have created a stable system of succession of power. Further development is a vital task facing us," said the President of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev also pointed to the need to ensure economic growth, create new jobs, increase incomes and improve the quality of life of the population.
- One cannot live and hope only for the oil industry. In the modern world it is simply irrational. The basis of economic growth and prosperity of the regions is investments. Our free economic zones, in particular, "Morport Aktau" FEZ, have an attractive investment potential. The development of tourism also opens up great prospects for the country, where Mangystau has a number of serious advantages," the head of state said.
During the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan gave instructions to the Government, ministries, akimats and development institutions to take concrete and effective measures to ensure the growth of the national economy and the welfare of the people of Kazakhstan, to combat corruption, to improve the system of personnel selection and to build effective communications with society.
Summing up the results of the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked everyone for their support of his decision to hold early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, wishing success and prosperity.
In addition, during his working visit the Head of State visited the underground mosques "Shopan ata" and "Beket ata" and paid tribute to the memory of his ancestors.
