President of Kazakhstan holds meeting with Chairman of Majlisi Namoyandagon of Tajikistan

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held meeting with the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan M. Zokirzoda, El.kz cites Akorda.

During the meeting, President Tokayev noted that Kazakh-Tajik relations demonstrate high dynamics of development. He said that the day before, a historic agreement Treaty on Allied Relations was signed which marked the beginning of a new stage of bilateral cooperation.

Tokayev stressed the importance of intensifying inter-parliamentary ties, supporting the proposal of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. He also noted the importance of developing cooperation through the parliamentary line, expressing hope for the successful strengthening of bilateral ties.

The Speaker of the lower house of the Parliament of Tajikistan expressed gratitude for supporting the development of contacts between the legislative bodies of the two countries and stressed the importance of President Tokayev's visit to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. He also noted that among the 16 signed documents, the Treaty of Alliance is of particular importance.

Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda confirmed his readiness to work on further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, expanding the legal framework and intensifying cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries. The interlocutors stressed the importance of legislative support for the agreements reached in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
