President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev receives Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan held a meeting with Mayor of Almaty city Yerbolat Dossayev,El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.

The Kazakh Head of State heard a report on the preliminary results of the socio-economic development of Almaty in nine months of this year.

According to Yerbolat Dossaev, during the reporting period, short-term economic indicator amounted to 104.1%. According to the results of 9 months, 1,133 billion tenge of investments in fixed assets were attracted with an increase of 8.1%. In total, 2 trillion tenge of investments will be attracted in 2024.

The local budget revenues increased by 27.2%. Since the beginning of 2024, the budget of Almaty has been increased by 204.5 billion tenge to 1,828.5 billion tenge.

In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, the diversification of the economy continues with an emphasis on the development of small and medium-sized businesses. The number of operating entities increased by 6.2%, reaching 361.1 thousand, the share of SMEs in the GRP of Almaty will increase to 60% by the end of the year.

As part of the implementation of the President's instructions, new Urban Planning Regulations, Development Rules and the Housing Renovation Program have been developed to ensure the quality development of the city and effective control. The innovations will be approved by the end of the year at a session of the city Maslikhat.

In 2024, the budget for the modernization of healthcare infrastructure increased 2.5 times to 26.3 billion tenge. In August, for the first time in Kazakhstan, an Early Intervention Center was established on the basis of interdepartmental cooperation to reduce disability among children.

One of the priorities is to update the engineering infrastructure. During the reporting period, 219 km of new water supply have been built in the city and 27.3 km of existing ones were modernized, 66 km of power supply lines were reconstructed.

Following the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to increase the contribution of SMEs to the city's economy, develop the transport framework and ecologize public transport, as well as qualitatively modernize engineering and social infrastructure.
